Canyonlands ~ Dances of Universal Peace

Greetings Beloveds! You are invited to this Sufi Retreat, led by my friend and Mentor Yaqin Lance Sandleben...

The Heart of Love ~ A Sufi Retreat

October 30 - November 2, 2008

Prescott AZ

"We meditate in order to learn how to love." ~Hazrat Inayat Khan

In a fit of madness or confidence, (and hopefully a little inspiration), I am conducting my first multi-day sufi retreat. There are lots of options for attendance. Please join us!

We will be staying at Chapel Rock, a church camp in Prescott. From their website,

www.chapelrock.net:

"Being at Chapel Rock is a breath of fresh mountain air, with the scent of pines, a vista of massive boulders and nearby mountains, and a mild climate." Though it is in Prescott, it is tucked away, and is quiet.

The retreat will run from Thursday evening to Sunday noon. You have the option of attending Friday evening through Sunday. You also have the option of staying at Chapel Rock, or attending while staying off campus. However, if we can get 15 or so to stay, we will have a very nice lodge, with good space for dancing and other practices. Meals are provided.

The cost of the retreat for staying on campus would be:

Thursday through Sunday, $225.

For those attending Friday evening through Sunday, it would be $152.

For those attending, but not staying at Chapel Rock, the cost would be $45 for Friday and Saturday, and $30 for Sunday.

If you are attending the evening programs only - we ask for donation.

We are keeping the price very close to our cost, to encourage staying together. Sharing that time together is as special as any of the practices.

Here is the program we will follow.

Before breakfast: prayers, silence, and Zikr.

From Breakfast to Lunch: sufi sesshin, where we will alternate dance with meditation. Break after lunch for personal time.

Late afternoon to dinner, sufi teachings and practices.

Thursday evening - Dances of Universal Peace.

Friday evening Dances and Healing service.

Saturday evening - Dances and Zikr.

We will end the retreat with a Universal Worship Service on Sunday.

Because of the variety of options for attendance, we only ask that, however you enter the retreat, let yourself settle quickly into the building atmosphere.

If you are interesting in attending, please contact me soon, and let me know whether you will be staying on campus or off.
